Does chicken chow mein mean that it was made from the dog chow chow?

i work in dog grooming, this woman who is a know it all claims that chicken and beef chow mein were named from the fact that back in the day long ago shows were used for work and haouling things. after they arrived the dogs were used for food. she claims, hench the name chicken chow mein. please tell me she is full of it. she is an absolute nut.

    Chow chows were used as guard dogs and are good fighters. Shes a nut.. Chow probably comes from the way its prepared or the ingredients.. Is there even chow mein in china?

    Chow=stir fried

    mein=noodles
