Does chron's disese...cause gas?

I have chron's disease and for the past 2 weeks ive had an absurd amount of gas and i have yet to have my colonoscapy (this will be my third one coming up) so thats not it. Is it just because i have a bad case of gas or does my disease play a part in this?

hi pam, I am a female crohn's pt. for 28 yrs. Certain foods that we eat will cause gas. You just need to watch what you eat to avoid the gas pains.

I usually take beano if I know I am going to eat brocolli, cauliflower, onions, anything that will cause gas. That usually helps. It is safe because it is an enzyme used to help alleviate the symptoms.

Well chrons can cause direaha so it may play a part because when my stomach hurts, i get gas.

Different foods and drinks can cause more amounts of gas, but let your doctor know about it when you have your colonoscopy if you're concerned.

Extra Strength Phazyme.  Cost's more but it's worth it.  Yes, that is because you have undigested stuff in your gut and it is fermenting.
