  1. Cigarettes were banned from all greenhouses at the University where I earned my Master's degree.  The tobacco could contain tobacco mosaic virus which can infect plants related to tobacco.

    Heavy smoking in a poorly ventilated room coats everything with tar residues from the burring cigarettes.  It can block absorption of light and clog stomata used for gas exchange.  There could be other side effects.
