Does clean coal really exist?

Or is it just propganda by the coal companys?

  1. it does exist, but its production cost is prohibitivelly high enough to forget about using it as a common fuel source


  2. Clean coal does not exist. Research is going on to produce a process that will make  a pollution free or low pollutant coal. The final product/process is a long way down the track and will cost billions of $ to achieve.

    As a passing comment anthracite is a hard coal, high in carbon content and a good producer of heat  but it is not clean

  3. This coal is called Anthrasite, and is widely distributed in the UK. Seams are never more that a few feet thick, and usually 1200 feet or so beneath the surface.
