Does cooking brain make it safe to eat, so no prion diseases like transmissible spongiform encephalopathy can be contracted?

  2. i am not 100% sure. I know when i was a kid my mum cooked brains. (i guess you are talking about sheep brains) we never had them raw

  3. The only way of destroying prions is soaking them in NaOH while heating them in an autoclave of 121 degrees celsius for an hour!

  4. No. Cooking does not destroy prions. Even incinerating does not destroy prions. They are pretty much resistant to proteases, heat, radiation, and formalin treatments.
