Does costa rica have a hurricane season?

i was thinking about going to cancun in August but everyone keeps telling me it's the worst time to go because of all the recent hurricanes everywhere and since it's hurricane season it's gonna be especially bad! what should i do? san jose costa rica looks like a good vaca spot but i heard costa rica barely has any clubs/bars for ppl 18-21. what should i do? has anyone been to costa rica? is it a nice place? is there anything to do?! it's for my 21st birthday :)

Who ever told you that....surely he's never been here....there's a club almost in every corner hahaha....

Is an incredibly nice place I recommend it to u... I've lived here all my life and every time I have the chance to go to vacation I prefer to know my country than to go out!!

pd--I'm almost 20...I know about clubs haha...

The "hurricane season" is happening from right now 'till June

No it doesnt. The mountains are too big for a hurricane.  It only has a rainy and a dry season and it has earth quakes because of the volcanoes but not hurricanes.
