Does crack ruin your teeth?

I had this conversation with a couple of my co-workers.. I stated that this lady appeared to be a crack head because she had no teeth.. My co-workers are ex- drug addicts and they gave me a funny look. They told me that crack/meth addicts dont lose their teeth because of the drug itself but its because of their poor hygene. They also added that crack addicts are usually homeless. Is there something chemically in crack that wears away at teeth?

Yes it can wear your teeth down due to the crack and the added poor oral hygiene
