My mother is always telling me that if i keep cracking my knuckles, I will start to lose my grip that I use for my tennis game, or any other thing that involves using a grip constantly. Is this true, or is she just telling me this to get me to stop??

  1. Cracking your knuckles causes no health problems even though it comes with plenty of myths like the one your mom is telling you along with the one about it making your joints bigger.

  2. Nope - Mom's wrong.  Crack your knuckles as much as you like.  It has no effect on them.  What's interesting is that nobody can even seem to agree what makes that neat cracking sound when you do crack your knuckles.

But be careful - it does drive people nuts and perhaps somebody will have you arrested if you crack your knuckles in public!

  3. I've heard it can cause arthritis but its probably a myth. But i always cracked my knuckles so much, now i cant crack them anymore.
