  1. Marky Mark, don't spend money to get some private organization to "counsel" you on your credit problems.

Check your local community for a program called "Financial Peace University".  It is often put on by local churches and offered free to the local community.  It covers the concepts of Dave Ramsey, who is the get-out-of-debt guru that has helped so many people.

Good luck as you seek financial freedom.

  2. BOGUS, Did it twice.

File bankruptcy, I did, and it is 100% better, you may pay a higher interest rate for a while on loans, but you will still get them.

I have kept cars, house etc, and got rid of payday loans, credit cards, medical all in bankruptcy. that is the way to go if you are in alot of debt.

Consumer Credit Counseling gave me a SLOW PAY Credit History which was WAY worse than my bankruptcy.

I agree Financial Peace , Dave Ramsey is the only way after Bankruptcy is over... live like no one else so that later  you can live like no one else!!!

  3. That depends on you.If you have trouble with budget-ting then perhaps you will get help. We(the spenders) don't often see situations the Counselors see.I have worked  as a Counselor, and it does work. But you need to be able to sustain your limits.

  4. I can't believe those guys are still around ever since the Gov. allowed the lenders to crack down a couple of years ago.
