On the off chance that Remington owns Crosman (making Crosman a part of Remington), I did some checking. The Remington's FCC filing does not indicate this is the case. It did indicate that Remington owns Marlin and H&R, but not Crosman. So you're both right, sort of. Remington and Crosman are indeed two separate companies. However, Crosman does make air-rifles for Remington. (Just like Daisy does for Winchester.) Remington branded air-guns are one of Crosman's "signature series" gun lines. For example the Remington AirMaster 77 is simply a rebranded Crosman 2100.
