  1. Cruise control saves you gas because it keeps your car at a constant speed.  When you accelerate or decelerate, you waste gas.

The only exception is on hills.  Here, cruise will not save you gas.

  2. Thats a bunch of c**p.  You might use a little more fuel when you go up hills.  The cruise control in this case would try to keep the engine at a constant speed and give the engine enough gas to do so.  If you didn't have the cruise on you could just let the vehicle slow down a little until you are over the hill so you don't waste the fuel.  But that difference is little in comparison to how much you use on one trip.  In the end  it probably saves you fuel because it keeps you speed constant.

  3. its supposed to help.I mainly use cruise control when i have to go certain speed (15 mph in front of a school) so that I dont go over it and get a ticket!!!

  4. CC makes you use less gas because you stay at a steady speed for longer periods of time which improves gas mileage

  5. Using the cruise will actually save you gas in the long run.  Its such a small amount that you wont be able to tell right away.  I won't drive a car without cruise, it makes highway driving so much easier.

  6. Cruise control on steady driving, over relatively level roads will save you gasoline.  In heavier traffic, where you can't run under constant cruise, you're not going to see much of an increase.  Hilly terrain will also affect mileage, as the cruise will drop gears to keep you at the preset speed.

I run cruise as much as possible, because it does save gasoline.
