Does different electric guitars all make difference noises?

ok i know slash uses a les paul and Herman Li uses Ibanez and all these famous guitarist uses other guitar but does it really matter I'm looking to buy a les and i was wondering if you could play dragon force, does it really matter can't you just adjust your volume and others to get the same noise other guitar does and i was wondering if the les paul can make the tom merllo scatrching noise if you do the same trick tom merrelo does

The Tom Morello trick requires two pickups with individual volume control, Les Pauls have this frequently.

But yes, Dragonforce speed up and overprocess there stuff so much he could be playing an Acoustic and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
