Does disguared fishing line harm or kill land/sea animals?

Yes, it certainly does.  Not just in the oceans either, but also in the rivers, creeks, and lakes (fishing line).  I got my own leg caught in fishing line wading accross a river once.  The outcome might not have been so good for me, had my friends not been with me.

Yes it does. The fishing line can be wrapped around various parts of the animal and that could restrict them from eating, drinking, flying, swimming, etc.

It is very harmful, so my best advice is not to discard fishing line and any kind of waste in the water and on the land.

As a diver I have seen what happens to sea creatures by the variety of trash that finds it's way into the oceans. Fishing line often gets tangled around various parts of fish, birds, turtles or other sea creatures and prevents them from eating or swimming usually resulting in death.
