Does doing jumprope really increase your speed?

How many do I have to do a day to get 5.0 in a 50 yard dash.

If it doesn't then how to I become faster without using any equipment other than a trindmill.?

  1. Jumproping will just improve your coordination and endurance. For speed work you need to do intervals, hills, or even parachute sprinting.


  2. Jumprope is excellent for a multitude of things like strengthening..but for speed you have to do sprints, fartlets,and tempo runs.....Running hills and running outside will get you faster....mile repeats with minimal rests....

  3. all plyometrics and isometric plyometrics help, but it isnt going to be the difference.They should be a part of grand scheme. box jumps are good too.

    The other thing that makes you fast is RUNNING FAST
