You're supposed to drink 8 glasses of water a day. What if you drink them all in 1 hour? Is it bad?

  1. That will make your stomach hurt really bad. Don't do it. You will end up puking it all up.

  2. Yes, you shouldn't be drinking water so quickly, you're supposed to have those 8 glasses of water spread out over longer  periods of time.  Don't worry, just make sure next time you don't drink it all so quickly.

    Best of luck!

  3. Yes you can get water intoxication.

Water intoxication (also known as hyperhydration or water poisoning) is a potentially fatal disturbance in brain functions that results when the normal balance of electrolytes in the body is pushed outside of safe limits by over-consumption of water.[1] Normal, healthy (both physically and nutritionally) individuals have little to worry about accidentally consuming too much water. Nearly all deaths related to water intoxication in normal individuals have resulted either from water drinking contests, in which individuals attempt to consume more than 10 liters (3 gallons) of water over the course of just a few minutes, or long bouts of intensive exercise during which electrolytes are not properly replenished, yet massive amounts of fluid are still consumed.

  4. Water can be toxic but I doubt you would hit it that quickly. It may not be unhealthy but you'll need to stay near a bathoom AND your requirements for water for the rest of the day will go through the roof (not neccessarily a bad thing)

  5. For all i know, it won't cause a problem. But u might have digestion problems.

  6. the key word is "recommended" your water intake varies with how active you are, what the weather is like and how much salt or alcohol you consume.

athletes can easily consume a gallon of water in a couple of hours because of the stress their bodies go through.

drinking a glass of water before eating can help you lose weight, your body will sense being full faster this way.

yes in extreme cases water can be toxic if you drink gallons & gallons in a few hours, what this does it leaches important minerals (electrolytes) from your body and can cause a stroke or death.

generally if you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated, keep ahead of that condition by remembering to drink water every few hours.-blurey
