  1. Power?????????  No.  Less drag, possibly, so better fuel efficiency over a long distance to be noticeable.

  2. They actually tested this on "Myth Busters" and yes, it does give you better mileage, but not necessarily more power.

  3. No.. It will not give you more power, But driving with it down  will give you better fuel mileage. some states it is illegal  to do so .. the state and local cops will give you a fine ..

  4. Like others stated, its better to leave it up,for fuel effiency, it creates a drag on the tailgate if let down. Not sure on the results with a net tailgate.

  5. Mythbusters say no...

  6. no, somehow driving with your tailgate up actually reduces drag than having it down, which puts more downforce on your rear wheels and puts more power and torque to the ground. you dont get more power, just more downforce which in turn makes you go faster.

  7. I have seen test results to this and it has been proven that driving with the tailgate down does NOT improve fuel mileage. Due to the airflow over and around the cab the tailgate did NOT affect aerodynamics, However, the addition of a bedcover improved mileage, but only by a fraction.
