Does drywall contain silica?

Drywall is made from Gypsum. Any material mined from the Earth may contain some Silica. But the amount in drywall is insignificant. Still a good idea to wear a dust mask when cutting it, just because it is dusty.

I understand what you are concerned abot but you are exposed to more Silica on a widy day when the dust is blowing.
