Does employer in netherlands need to pay taxes for a employee based in other country?

say i am a sales representative in uk working on a job contract signed with a dutch company that has no local presence in uk. do they need to pay taxes or/and social insurance for me in netherlands? or i just need to pay everything myself in uk only ?

  1. You will have to account for your own UK tax and national insurance, as you obviously already know!  Provided you are not resident in the Netherlands for Dutch tax purposes, and do no work in that country for the company, the double taxation agreement between the Dutch and the English says that you can only be taxed in the UK.


  2. As a rule there is no tax liability if an employee works and lives fully abroad. Be careful though if this concerns a contract in which the Dutch state is party or if this concerns a Dutch state employee. Also note that different rules apply for a director of a Dutch registered company.
