No we are a commonwealth realm of HM Queen Elizabeth the second, Queen of Canada and all her other realms. We have been independent of the English since the statute of Westminster, which gave our country total control of the Parliament. We have a Queen to show pride in our roots and the founding of Canada.

i am a french canadian and let me say that  I give my loyalty to the queen of canada  her majesty elisabeth the second    even if I speak both french and english perfectly  here in quebec  there is a cliché that all french-canadian are loyal to france  but in reality  france has never help us in nothing as they let us down way before french-indian war   they we're saying that its only a piece of ice , then after it  the british  took it to their advantage  seeing that there is economic potential for England  ,still they gave us education and our own right to rule our province the fact that people in quebec do not give loyal to the queen is because the church said  let english have theyre work and us eat sh@t cause if we do we are at the right a\of jesus our lord  but in fact  I'd rather have a job and be fulfill than be an a$$hol3 with pity
