Does equal parts sugar and baking soda REALLY work against ants?

Does it? My bedroom is ALWAYS gets ants in these summer months no matter HOW clean I keep it, but I heard that mixing equal parts Baking Soda with sugar and leaving it out will end up killing an entire colony!

Is this true? Has anyway tried this out?

I don't have any borax on me, but I heard that baking soda is a more prevalent solution.

  1. Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar. The ants will pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.
