In Tennessee we called them tater bugs and yes, they're all around. Here in Arizona they get big.

Do you mean the long green bug types That are suppost to blend in the green grass and not be seen? I took a picture of one who would not stop staring at me! (i must be either beautiful or really ugly if a bug stares at me)
