  1. my ex was on job seekers allowance and had to pay £5.00 per week but i never saw it this was when my children were 3&5 they are now 13 and 15

  2. Yes, they will take about £5 per week directly from his benefits.  If he gets a job in the future they will take a lot more plus arrears directly out of his wages if he does not pay it voluntarily.

It happened to me.  They demanded £4000 to pay for a child that is not even mine.  I went self employed so that now they can no longer steal my money.

  3. Even on jsa he would have to pay the minimum amount of £5. My hubby had to when he was on it for his 3 kids.

  4. yes the job centre will take the money off his JSA but I'll warn you now it's only £5 per week if they are not working. His name has to be on the birth certificate thou

good luck with it x x

  5. Yes it is 5 pound flat rate unless he gets certain other welfare benefits like Incapacity or carers allowance

  6. Really he should have to pay.. however my mum tried to make my dad pay for a good 7 years and the b*****d disappeared off the face of the earth for 6 years of it. Never payed out a penny, and has now stopped birthday/xmas cards. Just goes to show you can't rely on men.

    best of luck! xx

  7. No, every father does not have to pay the CSA.

It depends on you. If you chose to involve the CSA the father will be liable to pay 15% of his taxable income. The decision is up to you.

If you don't want the CSA then you don't have to have them.

The only exception is if you are claiming income support etc. then the CSA will be involved but the rules have recently changed and you will be able to come to a private arrangement if you wish but any money you receive may reduce the amount of certain benefits that you get.

As the CSA are rather poor at dealing with everybody and lead to constant problems, it is simple best if you can sort out payments between yourselves. Of course should the father refuse to pay then the CSA can be involved.
