I just replaced my 2-front tyre with new ones but i postponed for balancing service as the mechanic adviced me. Does it effect the durability of the engine and the tyres? Thanks for your advice.

  1. Tires absolutely should be balanced when first installed.  You'll find out why the first time you take it out on the highway.

Not balancing the tires is a stupid way to save a very tiny amount of money.  It will effect ride quality, handling and wear.

  2. Your tires should have been balanced when you purchased them.  One good way of knowing if they are or not is if you feel allot of vibration in the steering wheel when you drive.  Ordinarily balancing is included with price of new tires.  Sounds to me like you mechanic may be trying to squeeze more money out of you.

  3. It effects the durability of the tires and not the engine and it effects your ride comfort at an higher rate of speed especially on the freeway. Hopes this helps God bless you!!!

  4. are you sure the mechanic said balancing or alignment? if he did say balancing get a new mechanic

yes you should have your tires balance when you replace them with new or used ones.

unbalance tires cause vibrations on your car at certain speeds it can cause irregular wear on your tires or damage your front suspension.

  5. Get the wheels balanced, an unbalanced wheel will impose stresses on the wheel bearings and suspension and make the steering wheel shake (often in a certain speed range). I'm suprised your mechanic recommended postponing balancing, did he suggest letting the tyres "bed in"?, maybe he wanted to get home early.

It used to be standard practice to let tyres bed in to the wheels but technology has moved on. I would recommend having the wheels balanced once a year as a matter of course, it's suprising how they can go out of balance due to wear without you noticing it!

    Good luck!.

  6. It is necessary to balance the new tyres after replacement. Unbalance new tyres will definitely wobble as you speed. It is dangerous to drive without a proper balance tyres.

Unbalance tyres will not effect the durability of the car engine. The car suspension and absorbers will be affected in the long run.
