Does everyone else think Kimbo Slice is overrated?

Rogers is going to kill him for sure.  Its kimbo's first "real" competitor and hes not even that great.

It's interesting that he's being held up as being a great MMA competitor even though he hasn't faced any top fighters. Dana White has stated that Kimbo would lose to any of his fighters in the UFC even if he outweighed them. Unfortunately, Kimbo Slice is just now becoming famous at age 34, so he really doesn't have many years ahead of him to make a name for himself. It is precisely because Kimbo doesn't have much MMA experience that his trainer Bas Rutten hasn't had him fight anyone with talent. I think that MMA fans will continue to be frustrated with Kimbo facing  'no name' fighters for the rest of 2008. Bas is biding his time with Kimbo.

he is overrated. theyre just using his internet fame to make some money. thats why hes not fighting anyone really good because once he gets taken down and tapped out in the first round, the hype will end.

Of course he is.  What does he really bring to the table?  So-so punching.  He's strong and scary.  That's about it.  Luckily, his fame has afforded him some good training, but I'm not at all certain it will do him any good ultimately.  It doesn't look like he's got very many more years of "oomph" left in him.  I'd be happy to eat my words as genuinely good fighters do a lot for the sport, but frankly the amount of hype that Kimbo is getting is hurting the legitimacy of the sport.
