Dear Yahoo people,

I have this huge problem. I hate school. My parents told me that I can be home schooled. Now they told me a couple days ago that I have to go to a public school. I don't even know which grade I'm going to. I scared cause last year I missed a half a semester.

I know Dutch High school kids. They're rude, mean and Selfish *******. Trust me, I've been there and I don't want to go there again.

What should I go. I am stress eating right now.

  1. Not to worry, go to school with confidence in your self because of who and what you are, concentrate and learn and don't be distracted by others, keep a smile on your face and make friends, this part of your life goes by fast and some day you'll look back and laugh at it, don't worry, it happens, went through the same thing with my two daughters, both turned out great, you will also.

  2. Dutch high school kids sound just like American high school kids.  There are good kids too but we tend to only see the bad.  You need to repeat the grade because you missed too much.  You'll be able to get caught up and this will give you confidence for the next grade.

Watch and observe other students.  Emulate those who are succeeding in school and avoid those who don't seem to care.  Make friends with the kids who avoid problems, and you'll be able to avoid problems too.

Most of the time, when we're experiencing problems with other people, it's because we have allowed ourselves to get involved with their problems.  Don't make that mistake.  If it's drama, stay away from it.

Remember why you're there and make the best of it.  The more adult you act, the harder it is for trouble to find you.  Good luck.  You'll do ok.

  3. alright i guess there's nothing to say.. it's just the world and it sucks.. but i do know what you mean.. :)

  4. Lots of people hate high school, others love it. Point is it is just much easier, and better throughout life to have your diploma. If your parents are making you go to this school there really isn't much you can do until you're old enough to move out, and a high school diploma will help more with getting a good job to do that.

Instead of getting all worked up over it set up a plan for yourself. Figure out how many credits you need and then decide the quickest way to do that. Go to your guidance councilor and find out if it is possible for you to take correspondence courses to finish quicker. Ask about summer school to get your credits faster. Be mature about it. Someone else said that life doesn't get easier outside of high school and they're right. You get people good and bad at jobs, at supermarkets, at bus stops etc.  You just have to take the bad with the good. Make good memories in highschool. Take those lemons and make lemonaid. Join a club or group where kids have the same interests as you. Make high school fun and then maybe you won't hate school so much.

  5. Um u can drop out!

if ur 18 move out of the house && get a job.

  6. Tell your Parents NO! They will have to abide by your decision. Get a tutor. Aim for happiness in your life, do not take orders!

  7. i understand your parents decision and i think they are right...you must learn to function out there in the real world..when you are an adult you cannot run away when things arent as great as you had hoped for example when you have a job one day...and if you think that is different you are wrong...adults in the real world have a tendancy to still act as if they are in highschool ......so this is something you better plan on getting used too...unless u also plan on working from home for the rest of your life too
