Question:

Does everyone that supports Obama's tax cut for the middle class realize it will be offset by taxing business?

Those taxes to businesses will just be passed on to the consumers right along with any expenses accrued as a result. Nobody wins except the government who is going to get their money either way. The net result of such a tax on corporations will be to drive more of them out of this country. He says that he will give tax breaks to businesses that stay here. He can't do both. In the end the working individual will still be paying taxes to the government whether it is directly through income and sales tax or through corporate taxes paid at/through the cash register. Aren't you sick of this shell game that the government is playing? Don't you think that it is time for the era of big government to end?

  1. If that's true...who is paying for the Bush tax cuts to the wealthy that McCain wants to increase?  Tax cuts always mean changing budget priorities.

  2. Think about what your question REALLY implies...the fact is, the only ACTUALLY "fair" tax system would be eliminate ALL deductions & to divide the annual budget by the number of individual people and have everyone pay that much each (about $8,000), but we have decided as a nation that an equal division is somehow 'unfair', and Democrats & Republicans tend to use different strategies to skew the collection.  While giving tax breaks to business is a generally smart way to encourage folks to start businesses (thus creating jobs), do you not think it just a little 'crazy' that a single mother who has a GREAT job and makes a salary of $100,000 can easily end up paying more taxes than an "S Corporation" that consists of 10 people who each make $20,000 a year through the Corporation?

  3. Well worded my friend. I couldn't figure out a way to state this exact issue. Thank you so much. This country will be run as if a Republican is in office either way. So much for the option to vote Democrat. This country is doomed to fall flat. China's buying up our debts one after another, which isn't too comforting since it was still recent that they began accepting imports from us again. They act like it's just business and helping bail us out..... Bush lost the power ball.

  4. Some taxes will be passed on.  The main effect would be to reduce profits which will cause layoffs which will create the need for more taxes to cover the increase in welfare costs.  Of course, there is always that old stand-by, deficit spending.

    Democrats offer welfare

    Republicans offer warfare

    Democrats offer higher taxes

    Republicans offer deficit spending

Libertarians offer none of the above
