  1. Evolution will never stop.

It's easy to think that it will, when you live in western civilization. But you have to keep in mind that there are places in the world with high infant mortality rates, and high child death rates from diseases like malaria. Also, the AIDS epidemic is affecting a very large percent of people in third world countries, and even if someone has children before they die of AIDS, their orphaned children are at a grave disadvantage.

As long as not everyone is able to survive to adulthood, and bear children who in turn survive and bear children, evolution will continue.

  2. Evolution has nothing to do with humans evolving in the sense that you describe. Evolution is simply natural selection. For example:

Giraffes have long necks. The necks help them eat tree leaves that are very tall in the savannah of Africa. If the environment changes and the trees that are tall become extinct leaving only groun d level shrubs, the giraffes would die out because they couldn't reach their food.

The key to all of this is chaos theory, deformities, and genetic variance. Every once in while, our DNA produces offspring that are very different than normal. Siamese twins, a baby with it's heart outside it's body, a man with flipper like limbs. We as a society usually see these deformed people as tragedies. Most people born like this lead difficult lives and die and never reproduce.

However, if the genetic variance is useful to the organism, that deformity may be a wonderful adaptation. Back to our example. What if a giraffe was born deformed. A giraffe with a short neck? This giraffe would be the only one to survive in the case of trees going extinct and shrubs growing on the ground. The long neck giraffes would die, the short neck giraffes would reproduce. This is natural selection. It is an aspect of evolution. It is key to understand what darwin spoke of. The man to ape pictur3e we all have seen was created by Lamarck, a christian that hated darwin's idea and wanted to trick people into believing evolution was an idea saying monkeys turned into man. That is not what darwin said.

  3. We evolve constantly, but over such huge periods of time that there is little discernible difference within the period of human recorded history (around 6000 years).

Because of humanity's ability to control much of their environment (and to destroy it) the need for adaption and any possible benefits of genentic changes are minimised, so don't expect those science fiction ideas of humans with huge brains and tiny bodies!!

  4. Already tons of answers.

Yes evolution is an on going process.

Every time our environment changes our various adaptations get rewarded.

I thought about an example how modern man may be adapting with even a brief change in environment like technology in the last 50-60 years.

What if our cognitive precept ions are changing, like with attention deficit disorder. We look at computer screen and TV.movies and comprehend its content very quickly and even in short hand excerpts....the sound bite if you will distilled huge issue concepts into abbreviate communication or texting. Clearly this ability is improving from generation to generation...or worsening depending on opinion.

I'm sure a biologist my find fault with my idea, but its the best I could do.

  5. Of course they are.  Proper diet and training are making the "cream of the crop" faster, stronger, and bigger.

At the same time, due to bad diets, more technology, and laziness, the masses are becoming weaker, and generally more out of shape.  Eventually, if this trend isn't reversed, you will see physical and psychological changes become more pronounced.

  6. Yes.  Humans are evolving in today's times to achieving a vibratory awareness which gives the ability to know things, status of oneself and others, by vibrations. This has been brought possible by the awakening of the Kundalini by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. This awakening is the last breakthrough in the evolution of humans, which is mentioned in all religious scriptures. It is also called Nirwana, Self Realisation, Atma Sakshatkar, Baptism, 2nd  Birth and much more.

Once we get the vibratory awareness, we are connected with Divine and we are always taken care of, Can solve problems and cure people by vibrations, also are protected from negative energy and people and circumstances.

There is a lot more to learn about this and we need to go to the Sahaja Yoga programs to learn more about it.

  7. Nobody really knows the current direction or final outcome but we are still evolving.  You just won't be able to see if for many generations if not thousands or more generations.

  8. yeah, gradually. what are u gonna do wwhen it all comes out???

  9. Evolution only exists in the minds of those who are followers and worshipers of Charles Darwin. Evolution is but a fairytale which shall be fully revealed in time to come.

  10. It's possible. evolution is viewed to be more of a necessity. That is we adapt and then we evolve to incorporate those traits that make adaption innate. Since humans are pretty much at the top, it's likely we are no longer evolving. It would really be impossible for any of us to know for certain since true evolution happens slowly over thousands of years.

It is also possible we are not evolving. Look at some other animals, such as the jellyfish. This animal evolved to its current state billions of years ago and stopped. It stopped because for its survival and environment its perfect.

On the other side, whales and sharks were evolving to their current state up to a few hundred thousand years ago. A relative short time in evolutionary terms.

  11. yes must be. but we cannot feel it coz evolution takes thousands of years to happen. so no noticable changes can be seen for now...

  12. Adaption is to the change in environment.

Evolution, the change in allele frequency over tome in a population of organisms, is always happening.

You are mistakenly thinking evolution is progressive, linear and has a goal in mind.
