I heard that's what happens. Like, with bulimic people. Stomach acid rots teeth or something. Just what I heard. Want to know if it's true.

  1. YES, it does.  the acid in your stomach has a very low pH level, low enough that it eats away at your enamel. (just as insight, the enamel of your teeth is like 98%+ calcified, and is harder than bone)  The acid erosion from the bulimia, if there long enough, eats away all your enamel, leading to the next layer of your tooth, the dentin, to be exposed.  that dentin is very sensitive, causing pain.  the sad thing is if your enamel is gone, there is no real way to bring it back, other than to have fills or crowns placed over the teeth, something that can be very expensive in the long term.

  2. Thats true. Brushing your teeth after you throw up can lessen the effect of erosion.

  3. yes. the acid wears on the enamel, creating wholes.
