Does extremely cold weather affect your cable signal+?

-30 below, Hitachi HDTV, Time Warner cable company and a HD- DVR box.... the past few weeks the signal is extremely scambled, it also happens on the TV that has regular DVR.

Cable guy coming, but I was just wondering....

  1. Yes, weather can affect cable systems, too.  Cable systems have amplifiers on poles and wires running all over the place.  Some electronics will get temperature sensitive as time goes on, also cold weather and wind will aggravate poor connections in the system.  I used to have cable at my house and it would go out every time we had a heavy thundershower.  Kind of ironic that cable systems poke fun at satellite . . .


  2. It actually makes it better, cold wires transmit signals alot better than hot ones.

    You prolly just got some bad connections.
