Or anti-feminism for that matter? Is this the only place that it matters?

  1. probably, out in the real world we are all just getting on with it. my closest friend is a feminist.

  2. Feminism will always mean something...

Most people dont think of unequalness as anti-feminism. Normal males were born to protect the fairer s*x (women). Its not unequalness honestly.

If you look at a Shark and a Goldfish you dont think of them as unequal but as different. When you look at a male and. a female you should think of them as different.

The color green is no better than the color blue. They both are different but they are equal.

The people who made feminism were women- (goldfish who wanted to be as big as sharks).

I am a woman and I believe that women and men were created equal- but they play different roles. Romeo could not play Juliet in Shakespear- and Juliet could never be Romeo. Think about it.....

  3. It does seem to lose some meaning when diluted into a million different forms.

Divide et impera is true for any cause.

  4. yes... it does.  globally it does.  locally it does.  referring to feminism, it matters.

in truth, if not for anti-feminists i wouldn't have ever known that there were "radical" feminists.  i just assumed all feminists were like me.  i've never met a radical feminist.  i've never seen one here except for a couple of pretty poor trolling attempts.  but they surely must exist since so much time is spent complaining about them.

@debater... interesting you would reference shakespeare.  when he wrote romeo and juliet women were not allowed to be actors... so juliet certainly was played by a man, as were all characters.

  5. To the ideologues, of both stripes.

  6. I'm sorry? Does who mean what?

  7. Well, yes. Despite leaving my mother for a bar hag, my father is very much a gentleman (hard to believe, ain't it?)

So I've always been raised to be polite, like hold doors open for women, pull out chairs, and when there's only one chair in the room, she gets it, things like that.

So that set me apart from the kids in my biology class - who were constantly harassing a friend of mine by throwing pencils and c**p into her cleavage, grabbing her butt, things like that. And they see it as flirting. I guarantee it wouldn't be like that had the feminist movements of the late 70's not taken place.

So what's the nice guy get? I recently was at school and held a door open for a bunch of girls coming up the stairwell. Unfortunately, they were women's libbers. So they get all pissed, hurled a couple of insults, and one hit me a couple times with her purse. So I don't do it no more.

You ladies ever wonder why you can't find a good man anymore? That's because we're in hiding, from those feminist women.

    Congratulations ladies, you screwed yourselves.

  8. i think it matters < 3

  9. it means a lot. it means a lot to me in my life and i know a lot of women that it still means a lot to. feminism will always be relevant as long as there are sexists out there and people who want to maintain that sexism doesn't exist. it is out there and it's really not getting much better, people are just becoming desensitized.

EDIT: i think we're oversensitive when it comes to race or parenting, but at the same time we are sooooo desensitized to how over-sexualized our country is and IMO, how sexist  a lot of media is. for example, people will say "yes, the media is sexist" and mean it, yet will in the same sentence act as if it doesn't matter. also, our society today doesn't care about anyone else and that shows how insensitive people have become.

  10. its all in peoples point of view

  11. i hate feminism... i miss the knights in shinning armor. a whole bunch of arrogant women who won't shave their legs ruined it all!

  12. Everyone here cares more than the rest of the world, but that doesn't mean it's completely irrelevant outside of this forum.

  13. it de big conjure word, mon. it bring de college teacher ladys de fine salary. they ugly as devils, mon. so we keep them in de schools till it be Halloween.

  14. It never did.  It is too personal of an issue to have a "common meaning" for all of society.

  15. Thats sexist.  Equal rights for males and females.

  16. maybe...

  17. It does matter because women still don't have all the same rights as a man especially in the work place.  People don't think about it as much these days though so it's not talked about often.

  18. equal rights. Pay me a dollar more, and maybe I'll stop whining.
