    Yes it does reduce it. It doesn't mean it will happen overnight but reformating does remove a thinn layer off the disc itself.

  3. Yes but its very negligible... say if you format for more than thousands of times then it may slightly reduce the performance... so when ever it is required to format the drives.. go ahead and dont be bothered about it.

  5. Daily usage frequency, which includes formatting and all other things you do with it, has an effect. Formatting by itself doesn't have a noticeable effect.

  6. If you need to frequently format any of them, you should think about replacing them.
