Does frequent partitioning and formatting spoil... Ive formatted my PC's Hard disk 5 times this

Ive formatted my PC's Hard disk 5 times this month(Just trying to install Linux). Ive got the correct partition of XP/Linux now.......and its running well........but did that cruelty affect the disk??
