Does fully comp insurance generally cover you for motoring repairs?

Eg if my car just breaks down, would I be covered generally?

  3. No. It only covers accidents.

    Fully comp means in the case of an accident the insurance would fix your car, and the other one.

    Third party means the insurance would only fix the other car.

  4. Hi  General answer is no.  If you want repairs to be covered you need insurance from a warrenty company.  Be careful you understand what is covered under warranty as most wear and tear items are usually excluded. (brake pads, clutch exhaust, tyres etc)

    The comprehensive insurance covers repairs to your own car in the event of an accident as opposed to third party which only covers repairs to anyone you hit, when you are deemed responsible for the accident.

    You will need additional brakedown cover with the AA or RAC

  10. NO Car insurance only covers accidents. If you have extended warranties on your vehicle, that may cover your problem. You may have towing included in your comp or collision coverage, but that still doesn't cover the cost of repairs
