Not in my opinion. My siblings love it for some reason. They say its for the beat and not for the lyrics (which I can understand because who knows what they are saying. I don't think the rappers themselves could understand it if they hadn't written it). But to me, it's not even considered music. It in no way benefits society.

i like gangsta rap. it has good beats :) there are only a few groups that i like, and actually listen to their lyrics, but, for the most part, i just like the beat. its fun, and it gives us something to dance to, no matter how white we are :) i know this isnt gangsta rap, but, do you know how many old ladies ive seen dancing to "who let the dogs out"??? waaay too many :) and that my friend, is entertaining :)

I think the peopl who put their gangster rap lyrics out there think that they are contributing to society by opening the eyes of people who have no idea what the "streets" are really like...in theory it works, but in reality it just paints a really bad picture and probably makes things a little worse...Like most things in life there's a good side and a bad side to it...I personally don't listen to the lyrics..bu I am a sucker for good beats myself :-)
