Does generic drugs have exactly the same components to the "branded" ones?

If they do differ, how would this difference affect on the consumer? Which drugs is more reliable,beneficial, practical considering all factors?

  1. They are equally reliable and beneficial.  The only difference is usually the binder that makes up most of the pill.  They all have to have the same drug and milligrams as the branded ones.  The binder used very, very rarely affects anyone.


  2. The user above me stated it very well. Additionally, FDA requires that generics adhere to the same efficacy standards...meaning they must work equally as well.
