Question:

Does geographic location relate to differences in people's personalities?

I always thought that cities - within the USA, at least - were demographically pretty similar in personalities. E.g., I never believed Portland people (Portlandians?) were significantly more helpful or less materialistic than LA people. Maybe to some extent.... but not to a point where people consciously recognize it.

Do you think geographic location affects/determines parts of people's personalities/traits? How about in colleges/universities - do you think the people at a party school (let's say UCSB or SDSU) are significantly different from those at somewhere.. tamer (Pepperdine or.. anywhere but a party school)?

  1. I take it you haven't traveled much!

  2. Good question and I'm going to have to ponder this one.

    Interesting.

I wouldn't try to compare Pepperdine to UC Berkley if you're talking academics.

Berkley has an international reputation for academic achievement and

Pepperdine has a.....what was it they have?

I'll remember, just give me a second,

    Oh Yeah

    a nice view!

  3. YES.

  4. Your personality is made up from your genes and  every single thing that touches your life. I'd say that the whole surounding eco-system would make for your personality. Have a star, interesting.

  5. the personalites of the people from different cities are related to the culture of the people that have settled in those cities and not the location. The same goes for the student body of a college or university.
