  1. I think that it is just a respectful way to address you. I dont think that it means that you are old or ugly.

  2. no its a form of respect... if you were raised in the south you would know what i mean. i know i was taught to say yes ma'am no ma'am ect.doesnt mean your old or ugly they were just being respectful

  3. Yes Ma'am, it's all true, it's good you figured it early  :p

  4. er.. I don't like being called sir either. When a waitress called me sir one time I left her a BAD tip. Call me sir when im like 40 w/ kids..

  5. i don't think people are thinking that when they say that to you. some people were just brought up like that. their parents taught them that was matters to call a lady, regardless of her age that.i'm sure your not old looking or ugly. i hear people get called that all the time. some beautiful and youthful looking at that.

  6. No this is not true !who ever calls you this is a hater you can say ! because may- be that is the way that they are looking at themselves, and in order for them to try to feel good about themselves. they must hurt someone else.beauty is within each individual!

  7. u are not old or ugly just some people don't respect other that way for someone to said ma' am' or sir is showing respect for u

  8. Its just an expression darling.

  9. That deffinately does not mean people think you are old or ugly.

Ma'am is used as a very respectful title.

    You should be proud.

  10. when your called a maam u are no called old or ugly

  11. it doesnt mean either one. its just a proper way to address a woman

  12. no, i wouldnt say that. honestly, i dont think people actually realize the impact 'ma'am' has, as opposed to 'miss'. i dont think its a matter of how you look at all.

  13. It's just a way to address a female that is not a child. Often in the service industry, employers are specifically instructed to address women as 'ma'am' and men as 'sir' regardless of age.

  14. i'm 15 and i get called ma'am. lol.

    it's to show respect.

  15. No no no! being called ma'am' doesnt mean that.  I know alot of people get offended when someone says that.  But maybe the people that called you that were just brought up that way to call women and girls "ma'am'"   My mom gets called that sometimes and she is really pretty and younger looking.  But we just laugh about it and she does too.  Later on in life your going to think its funny [=

    good luck (=
