Does getting permanent teeth pulled out hurt?

I'm going to the oral surgeon on Thrusday since my dentist can't extract teeth. I will be getting 2 premolars pulled out for othodontic treatment. Will it hurt? What is safer to use laughing gas or novicane? What should I tell them to use on me, but I'm really scared of laughing gas =[
