Does getting your cartilage pierced hurt?

my friends supposed to do mine with her piercing gun on wednesday.. i'm scared

 im getting mine done with a needle tomorrow i think, i'll probably chicken out and go to a really crappy piercing place and get it done with a gun, but ive told myself not to haha. apparently with a needle its quicker and less pain? i hate needles and pain, but if it only lasts a few seconds then i'll be okay lmao. plus i seem to have no feeling in the top of my ear? hopefully it will be the same tomorrow!!!!! <3

 To be honest, yes it did hurt a bit when i had mine done, it would be a lie to say it did not hurt at all. however it doesn't hurt that much, it is like getting pinched very hard for a few seconds. And if you have got your lower ears pierced then you will understand that the pain does only last for several seconds. You must must must get it done with a needle though, because I have read that my cartilage could have shattered when I had mine done with a gun at "claires." 

All in all i'd say the recovery definitely hurts more .e.g. when you sleep on it or/and when you brush against it, which will happen :L. 

However if you really want it go ahead and get it done because it will be worth it, I loved mine but i took it out after three weeks because i could not stand sleeping on it and i was not allowed it in my school anyway :/.

i dont know if i want it done or not! my 2 m8s have had it dun and they go ooh it dont hurtt! but ooh man im scared it looks awesome but i need 2 know an honest opinion WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE compared 2 somethin elsee!?!? thanks y'all!! :D :D :P :)

 I'm planning to get mine done in a few weeks with my cousin and I'm really scared about my cartilage being broken and it hurting too much. As I found my lobes not very painful, will the cartilage hurt more?

im getting mine done sat. im really nervous that it will shatter mt cartilage or get infected...iim getting it with a gun im pretty sure...and i have a basketball game on sunday so i hope it dosnt get hit! im sure it will though :(

i am really scared getting my cartilage pierced i have my seconds and first periced i think it hurt i have 2 tears i am a real baby so now i am 13 and i dont know if i should get it pierced if i thought my seconds hurt could you give me some addvice or tips or if i should even get it done  HELP ME!

i had mine done with a gun and it didnt hurt at all! i think it was less pain than having lobes pierced i would give it 2 out of 10

no it dosent hurt i got it with the gun yesterday it dosent hurt dont worry its a lot to take care of tho and hurts a lot after but its fine good luckk

i guess not i just had my ears pierced for the first time the other day. i got it done in the ear lobe. it didnt hurt that bad its just like a tiny pinch.after i can take my earrings out im gunna ask my mom about gettin my cartilage pierced on the left side.i dont know if it will hurt though thats y im on this website!!!!!!!

Okay, GUYS!!! A gun is *FINE*! I went to claire's and got it done on valentines day. When I got it it only hurt a lil more then the ear-lobe, and after it just got a little warm and thats ALL! People say you could shatter you cartilage and yatta yatta yatta, NOT TRUE!!! Alright? After a couple weeks I could even sleep on my ear. Yes it might be sore when you hit it, but not that bad. PEOPLE, STOP OVER REACTING!!! Guns are fine, and I love my piercing now :D

hey im 12 and im getting mine done in 3 days im getting it done at REAL the piercing and hair shop (with a needle) do they numb your ear while you have it done ? IM PETRIFIED. HELPPP shall i get it done or is it not worth it ? :/

I recently got my ear pierced which is in the same position as a helix  
I had it done professionally with a gun it was fine for 5 days after but then it started to go all red and sore to touch. I went back to the place where i got it done and they said it is just your body finally relizing that there is a peircing there.
I am baring with it and I am bathing it in a small bowl with warm water with sea salt or savlon diluting liquid for 6-10 mins.
So far it is going great! :)

nope, it doesn't hurt at all. i've got five cartilage piercings and none of them have caused any problems for me.. go for it, because it's totally worth it.

i have 2 peirceing and 1 was with a neddle and my latest one was with a gun. the one i got with the neddle  turned out horrible it got put in on  a angle and now it hurts like h**l trying to change it. and it got infected a whole bunch of times.
the peirceing with a gun was way better it looks so much better and it healed in like only 3 month. my needle peirceing took almost 2 years to heal

its a 2 second procedure.. its a warm sensation in the end.. and that doesnt last for too long.. make sure that you dont get it with a gun becuase that can lead to plenty of complications.... make sure to get it with a needle which is actually alot safer and less painful since the needle is thinner and makes a more precisionous puncture...

no not really its a pinch then its over they do numb you. But it take two months almost a year to heal.
