All my friends said it didn't hurt, but i'm totally freaked out about getting mine pierced because i always black out when i get my ear pierced. Is it worth it? I'm most likely getting it done at Claire's and they use a gun.

  1. Hurt like h**l!  Worst idea I ever had.  I thought someone had put a lighter up to my ears and burned me.

I have had my cartilage piercings for 7 years now and when they get infected it is awful.  My earlobes swell, bleed like crazy and the pain is so bad that I cannot even sleep on my sides.  The worst part is that these are permanent.  Regardless if the skin heals where the piercing is, you will always have a hole.  Cartilage is a type of bone that has less blood supply than regular bone, so it cannot heal like normal flesh or bones do.

Also do not have your cartilage pierced by a gun.  It could break your cartilage.  If you want to go through with it, go to a place that will pierce it with a needle.

  2. i did it a few weeks ago and as long as the person dosent jerk around then no, it dosent hurt but it will be sore for a while and DO NOT TOUCH IT WITH DIRTY HANDS it will get infected. thats what happened to mine... it sucks... and hurts.

  3. it doesnt hurt as bad as other things do,

    but its totally worth it.

it looks really nice and it only hurts for a little while

i dont think they do it at claires.

i wouldnt advise it there either.

  4. Get it .

    Its worth "blacking out"

  5. I had my done at Claries. I couldn't sleep on the ear or talk on the phone. It pretty much sucked so I took it out. Just keep it cleaned and be sure to twist the ear ring and you should be fine.

  6. by getting it done with the gun could shatter the cartilage but its not likely but the pain is no as bad as getting it done with a needle but with the needle it will hurt more i would prefer to get it done with the gun

    xoxo

  7. I'd advise changing the place you get it done Claire's isn't cheap!  They wouldn't do mine so i went and got it £11 cheaper somewhere else.  However the pain it didn't hurt when i got it done just after for about an hour ha! then you've got the whole sleeping on it and stuff I've only had mine done a month and I do think its worth it =]

  8. It is painful, and very slow to heal, most piercings in cartilage get infected and cause ugly scars, its really not worth it, and no I am not some old diddy against piercings, I have tons of piercings, just not in cartilage tried it once and regretted it BIGTIME..also seen a lot of bad stuff that can happen!

  9. it's not painful, it feels like a pinch for a second and then its over :), using a gun is really really bad because it breaks down the cartilage and it makes it longer to heal, ask them if they can use a needle because it is less dangerous and takes less time to heal, or get it done somewhere else where they use needles, most places that pierce are actually getting needles to be required because of the dangers of a gun, it's totally your choice to use a gun or a needle, both are quick and not painful at all, hope this helped :), have fun :),..

  10. Do not get your ear peirced with a gun at claires! guns apart from being unhygenic can really damage the cartilage and will hurt alot more that getting it done at a piercers. Please take my advise and get it done properly : )

  11. I just got mine done about 2 months ago. I was really nervous once she put the gun to my ear, but as soon as she did it I was like "Wow . . .that's it??" So no, it really doesn't hurt. It might hurt a bit later that day & for the next couple days, but not much. A lot of people will say not to get it done with a gun, but as long as you get it done somewhere well known that trains their employees well then it's perfectly fine =]

    Good luck <3

  12. I got my cartilidge pierced with a gun about 5 months ago and trust me it really doesnt hurt the slightest bit! Using a gun is not that dangerous for a couple of piercings, it is only when you start to overdo it with loads of piercings on your cartilidge when it starts to get dangerous and your ear may well collapse. It is probs better with a needle tbh but no worries if it is your first time, ur gettin it done at claires which is still proffesional, DW bout it! they know what thier doing!

I would go for it, i have got an awesome gem in my "top ear" and it looks fab! No pain whatsoever.

    good luck! x*x : D
