GLOBAL WARMING WILL DESTROY MANKIND! I know when you hear, oh global warming has only raised the temperature one degree, people think nothing of it. That one degree changes the weather patterns. Dry places will become dryer, and wet places will become flooded. THink about it, the hotter the earth, the more percipatation there will be and more rain. Snow will melt, ruining the ice caps and affecting balance of salt water in the oceans. Also, 75% of the WESTERN UNITED STATeS GETS THEIR WATER FROM SNOWCAPS. WHEN THESE SNOWCAPS MELT, people will become thirsty. Not just here, but everywhere. With less snow, there is less water, and our lakes and rivers will be used up. Think about all the animals that will die! Food and water prices will sky rocket, and countries will fight for resources, killing many. So yes, global warming dies matter a dam.

Yes, global warming has already caused the extinction of many species and is threatening tons of others, including humans.  If global warming continues at the rate it is in not a long time we will have around 100,000,000 refugees from areas such as Florida, California, Shanghai, and more.  The economic impact of these refugees can not be calculated, many areas are still suffering from the tsunami that hit Indonesia and nearby areas in 2001 that displaced a mere 10,000.

That is only the beginning.  It is possible that the world heats up so much we will not be able to go outside at all, then possibly the whole planet becomes like Venus, with its poison air and no life.

now there, i gotta admit, you do have a point.

however, in the unlikely event that we somehow escape a nuclear war, it would be good to maintain a decent place to live.

in addition, if one uses your philosophy, there's no reason to plan for the future at all.

why go to school?

why work?

why not be a bank robber -- we're all gonna die anyway.

what's better, getting shot, or dying from the radiation burns after a nuclear war?
