Im realy freaked out by this whole thing.and it seems like knowone els cares that we are going to die if we dont take drastic actions now,And its not like a few of us are going to die,all of us will.What do you think?

No.  If we work hard we can reduce it to a level where we can deal with it.

Ignorance about global warming scares me, because that stops us from working on it.

If you live in a rich country you won't die.  Rich countries can cope, even if it hits hard.  But it will cost them huge sums of money and wreck their economies.

In poor countries many people will die of starvation due to damage to agriculture, mostly by global warming caused drought.

I think it is horrible that lying or stupid politicians are not ridiculed more for spreading such utter nonsense.  Human caused global warming, even by their own data, only accounts for less than a degree.  It has been much warmer even during this interglacial period.  It has been vastly warmer in the past.  The Earth has supported life for 3 billion years.  It will not be destroyed by global warming.  Please stop letting politicians, scientist getting money for saying it, and ignorant people that don't know any better from scaring you.

I agree - scares the **** out of me. I see no solution either. People hear the facts, then ignore them and continue on with their daily lives. I feel like throwing paint over every hummer I see!

In Barcelona I used to live in a S****y apartment and only drive my car at the weekend. Because everybody lives in S****y apartments and uses public transport (metro every few blocks is much better than a car when there is nowhere to park the car anyway) they consume much less than the States.

For US to do something about global warming means losing their current standard of living with big houses, big commutes and big cars. They will not do it and any politician who suggests it will not get voted in.

So - bye bye world as we know it, and only then will things change.

No, not at all. If in the year 2100 the air temperature is 105 instead of 100 degrees in summer, and sea level is one foot higher than it is now, that doesn't scare me. That is the prediction of the recent meeting in Paris. Other claims, like there will be more storms and droughts, don't scare me either, since we have storms and droughts now. Also, the weather man cannot even tell me accurately if it will rain next week I, so simply do not believe they really know what the weather would be like if it got 5 degrees warmer. It might be LESS violent.

The theory of man-made global warming is false.  Anyone who believes otherwise has not investigated the evidence or is purposely remaining ignorant to the legitimate opposition to global warming.  I have given up an one and a half hours to watch “An Inconvenient Truth” so I ask you to do the same and watch the movie detailing the opposition.

CO2 is not causing the globe to warm the opposite is true, the warming is increasing the atmospheric CO2.  When the world heats it gradually increases the temperature of the oceans which serve as the largest CO2 sink.  As the oceans heat up they release CO2 which is stored in them.  The information comes from the same data Al Gore uses, the temperature always goes up before the concentration of CO2 goes up.

CO2 makes up only .03% of our atmosphere.  Water vapor, another greenhouse gas, makes up 1-4% of our atmosphere, this gas is acknowledged to be the main greenhouse gas.  All human activities combined contribute only 6 Gigatons of CO2 to the atmosphere each year.  Animals, through respiration, decomposition, etc contribute 150 Gigatons of CO2 to the atmosphere.  So humans contribute only a small amount of CO2 to the atmosphere which is already in very small concentrations in the atmosphere.

http://oco.jpl.nasa.gov/science.html This is where my data came from, it is an interesting site, it displays the same graphics as Al Gore in his movie but it tells how low the human contribution is.  So Al Gore is using the same data but coming to a different conclusion, who do you want to believe a politician with no scientific training or the NASA CO2 laboratory, a group of scientists who spend their entire careers studying CO2.

We know the greenhouse effect is real it is a necessary effect to keep our planet at a habitable temperature.  However if our current warming is due to greenhouse gasses it would cause warming in the troposphere , but the troposphere is actually getting cooler.

The fact that only the earth’s surface is warming points to direct heating from the sun rather than heating due to greenhouse gasses.  Also other planets in our solar system are warming pointing to a common cause of warming, that common cause being the sun.

Second, even if there was a consensus it would mean nothing, science is not politics, you don’t vote on theories to determine their legitimacy.

The IPCC is the main supporter of global warming, their statements are defended blindly by people who don’t want to admit that global warming is not real.  People will claim that they took into account natural sources of CO2, they didn’t.  Take a look for yourself:

Also allegations have been by IPCC scientists who disagreed with the IPCC statements.  They say that their research was censored or taken out of the IPCC report.  This is not the first time the IPCC has lied, they forged the famous “hockey stick” graph, which later resulted in a reissuing of the IPCC report.

Quotes form politicians, CEO’s, and others are not proof of global warming, they issue these statements to get votes and customers.  Scientists are able to get published and get time on the media by supporting global warming.  The IPCC continually lies and misrepresents data so they keep their jobs.  

In regards to the precautionary principle that says we can only help if we switch over to alternative energy, this idea is not correct.  While this may seem legitimate it only helps the first world, third world countries can not afford to switch to the more expensive energy options.  Also the US currently spends 4 billion dollars a year on global warming research which could be better spent on research for disease or to fight poverty.  For an excellent example of how the precautionary principle is harmful you do not need to look further than DDT.  This pesticide was cheap and incredibly effective but it was banned because of it harmful effects on egg shells.  Now thousands of people die every year in third world countries because of malaria, a disease that could be easily controlled with DDT.

I hope anyone who believes in global warming they will take a look at the resources I provided.  These resources should convince you that global warming is not man-made, it is caused by cycles in the earths climate.  If you are not convinced I hope you at least take a new look at global warming as an unproven idea.  Remember that global warming is big business for anyone who aligns themselves with it.

I could not go this entire post without mentioning global cooling.  In the 1970’s it was claimed that there was a consensus on the fact that the world was headed into an ice age.  We have seen once before how damaging a false claim about our climate change can be to our world.  Most of the global warming crowd does not want you to know about this scare because it is so similar to the scare today.  Government panels were formed and claimed the world was headed to an ice age, evidence poured in supporting the claim, a consensus was claimed, then the whole issue just faded away.  That is what will happen with the false scare of global warming.

No.  God made the world, and man can not be so pious to believe that we can destroy it.  This is an out of control hyped issue.  Global Warming is a trojan horse for Socialism, wake up Americans. Global warming is at the fore front because politicians found how to use a new platform to get re-elected. The world leaders use it because they found ways to make money at it. This is a made up problem just like Global Cooling in the 1970's. Wake up people. I agree we need to be more efficient with our resources, and we should fine and jail companies who are dumping into our rivers maliciously. I want to stop the raiforest destruction, but to say that global warming is a serious man made issue and we need to destroy the American economy and bow down to the rest of the world certainly does not float my boat. Follow the money on this one and you will see that it is all for political gain and grant money for those scientists who profit off of the government if global warming stays at the front of the issues. Look deep into the Keoto (sp?) Treaty, first of all they took jets to a non-central resort location. Not very environmentally concious. THen in the parameters of the treaty they have a clause that makes it so you can buy or sell polution credits. This is all about shifting wealth and breaking down the United States. This is painfully obvious, just look at peoples agenda. The earth's mean temperature has risen .6 degrees C in the past 125 years. Greenland's icecaps have gotten colder in the past 10 years. The Scientists who do not gain anything on their posisition will tell you that the earth has a natural progression and this is what we are seeing. The UN report is made up of POLITICIANS not a good spread of scientists. THere are as many or more scientists who believe that man in NOT the reason and it is over hyped, but their voice is not heard in the LIberal Mainstream Media. How are you going to die from that ? C'mon relax. The temp of the earth went up 1 degree in 100 years and water levels will rise a few feet in 3 or 400 years. The planet is warming because the sun is warming. It's a natural cycle and the earth was warmer in the medieval times and we survived. Here's the part about the sun ....

yup i am scared because i read that lots of countries are going to be completely submerged in freezing water. the water could be taking out 6000 miles into the continent and past the border. don't worry- lots of people care, just not everyone thinks like that-they figure they are going to die before anything serious happens. but what about the younger people like me? who WILL be here 70 years from now and get to deal with it? its just SO inconsiderate the way some people think for example... its just the rainforest.
