  1. Glutathione (L-Glutathione) is one of the building blocks of protein. It really shouldn't be taken alone to make your skin pale, as the amino acids compete with each other for entry to the brain. You could cause some serious imbalances with this. I suggest you stick with cosmetics to lighten your skin, maybe use lemon juice as a toner.

If you eat a healthy vegetarian diet (not just leaving off meat) you will make plenty of L-Glutathione. It is manufactured in the body.

If you are a strict vegetarian or vegan you will possibly need to supplement with vitamin B-12 as it is available mainly from animal sources. Some vegetarian foods w/ B-12 are: tofu, blue cheese, eggs, and milk. Insufficient B-12 leads to anemia, malnutrition, nerve damage & infertility.

  2. Glutathione does not supply protein. It's a 'cojugate' molecule. It's primarily used in the liver to bind to certain waste products and make them removable by the kidneys.

Also keep in mind that if you take raw glutathione, it has a terrible uptake in the intestines - a fraction of a single percent makes it into your blood. Almost all of it comes out in bodily waste. If you want to increase your systemic glutathione look up a molecule called N-Acetylcysteine which is the precursor to glutathione. It's used in tylenol overdoses to boost glutathione levels in the liver, and it actually is rather well absorbed. The main worry with it is high blood pressure, but at your age, it's doubtful you have that.

Not sure glutathione actually pales skin though. That's the first time I've heard of that.
