Downhill requires a point of reference that really isn't available in space.  However since the formula for gravity involves the mass of two objects and the distance between the two then assuming the the first object is small and the second object is significantly huge then the force of gravity would seem to flow downhill for the smaller object.  But from the point of view of the larger object  I don't think the downhill analogy works.

  6. There IS gravity in space Stacy. That's a common misconception... it's what holds the Earth in orbit around the sun. Water and other objects flow downhill BECAUSE of gravity. Gravity doesn't flow at all... well... based upon current theories of what it is... we don't really know what causes gravity, but if you want to go with Einstein, gravity is curved space-time, so it's just a geometry and can't "flow" any more than the quadratic formula...
