My whole life I've hated the Rags,Pens and Isles but hanging out here I've started actually liking alot of their fans(ie Iceman,Greg,Erica,Snoop, Katie, Gonchar,Laying Low and a few others).Do you find the same thing being here or has it become worse because of the other "fans"?

  1. Really depends. After the IQ question about Pittsburgh, I decided that some are better than others. I have a friends from Detroit that I get along fine with on YA.

  2. rival teams: wings and canucks

most of the wings fans here are cool, like heavysoviet, NIPS, moose, redwings queen, etc. they improve the wings fans' image for me. but people like SOLID! are really cocky and cant stop talking sh**. SOLID! specifically isnt as bad as others, he just talks alot of trash about other teams. those kind of people are annoying and ruin their teams' image. but unfortunately, many teams have those kinds of fans here. we got ppl like REDWINGS SUCK. i think he got suspended, though.

havnt seen any canucks fans here.

  3. I'm a Wild fan and I hate some of my own fans.  Nothing worse then going to enjoy a game and there's a drunken moron ruining it by making noise, talking thru the game, and getting progressively drunker and more obnoxious by the minute.  Take your beer-swilling, twenty-something drunk @$$ to the bar, douchebag.  Too many losers who think they're in their own living room.

I went to a Wild game in Chicago a couple years ago and the 'Hawks fans were nice even though the Wild were killing them.  They gave us c**p when the Wild scored and we cheered but it was friendly.  Final score: Wild 3- Chicago 0.  So, I have nothing bad to say about another teams fans.  There will always be the wackos, but as long as they're civil.

  4. My opinion of Flyers fans has changed since I started my journey here. These fans of the Flyers are very funny and cool. Same with the other teams' (a rouge Islanders "fan/scout" notwithstanding) fans. You get that everywhere, where people are good fans with some nuts sprinkled in.

  5. i never really hated fans just a team. On YA i appeciate the inputs of other fans even though i may disagree but everyone on her loves hockey it doesnt really matter to me what fan they are. I may hold a little grudge on a certain team but i dont know anyone who likes that team so i dont know if i like the fans or not.

  6. As a general rule, I like most of the people here... but just think they have poor taste when it comes to choosing a hockey team. :).

Nah... obviously there are good and bad fans of every team... I usually hate rival fans until they have a face and a name... then I think of them as the exception.

Storytime!  The most recent Rangers/Isles game I went to (at MSG)... there were these two 17-18 year old kids rooting for the islanders in front of me.  And there was this one guy, probably around 50, sitting maybe 5 rows down and 10 seats to the left... that was just SCREAMING at them the whole game.  and then he'd go to get a beer and would curse at them and then talk to me and tell me to let him know if they did anything bad.  So I bonded with those two kids about the drunken idiot that was threatening kids young enough to be his son, heh.

So... I still say I hate Islanders', Devils', Flyers', Penguins' fans... even though I have friends that root for those teams.  It's easier to hate an anonymous person... I don't hate YOU, but I hate flyers fans.

  7. I'm an anomaly. My worst experiences have been fans of the teams that I like. But here, I have come to know fans throughout other cities that I like. Especially Philly.

Of course, every team in every city has its worst representatives, but I don't hold that against the good fans. The problem in this section are newcomers who want to act like they always have everywhere else on the net and get salty when you try to guide them on how to act here. Granted, some of us can wield advice like a weapon, but it is well meant.

They will start to abuse the system further by starting stuff that has NOTHING to do with hockey, thumbing down everyone they don't like, and reporting simply because it can be done regardless of what circumstances come from it.

I'm no flag waving fan of the policies that the Yahoo Answers Team think up one minute and install within the hour without forethought. Their naivete is difficult to tolerate for me at times, but I don't want to give them any ammunition to crack down on the way we entertain and educate ourselves in any section.

So as far as team fans go, I don't have a problem. But troublemakers disguised as fans are another animal. And they are always in season.

  8. I have learned to tolerate Bruins fans (like Spaceboy) even though I will never root for his team lol

At the risk of getting thumb-downs from Singh and 288 the influx of Leafs fans during playoffs they didn't even take part in made me realise just how much I despise some of their fans. (Side note: I have nothing against Asian people. But if you're a Leafs fan you can expect me to remind you of THAT .. how long has it been anyway 1967 BC?)

  9. Yes. I used to hate, no, a strong dislike for Ducks fans. But now they are fine, I don't dislike them as much as I did a year ago. Same with Red Wings. I don't consider Sharks/Red Wings a rivalry at all. But a lot of Sharks fans do not like the Red Wings for the same reasons as most teams hate them, but now (instead of having a strong dislike) I think the Red Wings fans are awesome...they are hilarious!!!!

  10. I have always treated other fans like what they are people first. I have never been one to root rudely . I want to enjoy myself first and foremost. . I think all those chest beating fans give the rest of them a bad name. I am still new here. But I have seen some great comments and some rude ones. I will hold off a final judgment until I know some of you better

  11. It's been better and worse. I use to honestly think Flyer fans were the most......yeah I'll end there. I don't want to start any arguements before I go into hiding from this section......but when I came here I've met some pretty nice Flyer fans......Take you and Bob for instance....first time I saw him and you I thought "Ew, Flyer fans" but it turns out you two aren't so bad. ;) Honestly, I don't think much of the rival now....I still don't like the Flyers, but it's not because of who they are NOW....it's because of who they WERE.

I also thought that all Ranger fans were a bunch of classy self-centered stuck up snobs......but then I met a few of their fans (Greg especially) and realized I was wrong. Yes I was wrong.....

It has become worse in some ways. Some people get WAY to competitive......and they show no sympathy. Some people like to rub it in others faces when their team loses......so that's why I'll be disappearing for a while.....can't stay around and listen to people rub it in my face when and if the Penguins lose the Stanley Cup.

***I use to have a strong disliking for Avs fans too, don't know why though! But then I met Mikey and realized they're not all bad....

Same with Nashville fans....I always thought they were a bunch of rednecks who didn't know a thing about hockey.....then I met COPAS......and I still think that! lmao, jk jk

  12. As a hockey player myself . I have always respected the other teams fans. I just can't stand the in your face obnoxious ones. They make everybody look really bad. Here I have met great people and some not so great. Same as anywhere else

  13. Well I haven't ever disliked a person just becuase they like a team I don't.

  14. Depends which fans... I've liked the Flyers but Snoops made me like em more lol... I've not liked the ducks, still don't... I've not like the avs, dont like em more now... loved the wings... love em still :)

  15. Actually, coming on here my disdain has gotten worse for most Rags fans, because most of them just say "Isles Suck" (OK, they do) or complain about the refs after every single loss, nitpicking every call that goes against them. There are exceptions to everything of course, like Greg and iceman86, who will give supporting statements to their answers.

I never really hated Flyers fans, just Kate Smith and her big red carpet.

Glad you're still using the Rags moniker.

  16. I don't usually have issues with rival fans, so it's all good!

  17. My strong dislike for the Canes has decreased a lot by talking to Jennay and Jeff. They're nice people.

The fans of the Senators on here have only proven my previous feelings of them(although beer slayer is cool).

  18. Absolutely, I have met many wonderful people on here including you.

I never knew that I would be friends of Flyers fans, haha :)

  19. Yes, I definitely agree. Before coming to this section there were several teams that I didn't think I would ever get along with any of the fans. I used to go on to Facebook groups and since it was a Leafs group it would only be Leaf fans opinions. Over here I can have civilized conversations with people who are fans of the teams I hate most. And people here actually know hockey. On Facebook everybody is just swearing at each other and some of the comments are so stupid. It's like we know we haven't won a Cup since '67, can we get past that and actually talk about hockey.

A Flyer fan is one to talk...'67 is only 8 years before '75 :)

^^^And we can all joke around with each other here and not take everything too seriously.

  20. it has definitely changed my mind. im starting to except wings fans. ya has shown me that we all have similar opinions when it comes to hockey in general. when its what team we like, well thats a different story.

  21. it goes both ways, but mostly it improves.

what did you have against the Penguins?

  22. i understand it's the playoffs and what not, but i feel like the red wings fans are just getting outta hand. of course don't take anything they say to heart - but they've become so c0cky. and anything i say if it's pens related, gets a thumbs down lol

i feel like they are out on the prowl and waiting for another person to get c0cky with.. i mean, it's only been the first game of the final series, chill out.. ya know?

  23. Not really.

  24. YES!!! i use to hate habs and sens fans (until i started to know them on here). but after i came on here i relized that they are just like any other fans! a lot of them are really smart and i will never think of them like i use too!

  25. Haha yeah...I've always hated the Rangers and their fans (typically the ones I've seen are pretty rude), but Greg seems like an intelligent fan who knows his stuff - Not the kind of typical Ranger fan I see in school and at games that just say "DEVILS SUCK" with no intelligent backup.  So yes, not all Rangers fans are bad.

I was always on the fence with Penguins fans.  Back when they were bad, their fans were really nice!  A lot of them said "Good Game" to me after they lost to the Devils at the start of the 2005-2006 season (Zach Parise scored, Crosby didn't =)  But, once Crosby started to play well and the team got better, they've been really rude.  But Gonchar and Kate are really funny and totally nice.  So I've come to like Pens fans.

Flyers fans have always been the WORST.  They always get into fist fights with Devils fans at games, they're really rude, obnoxious, etc.  Bob isn't half bad though :-)

  26. Not really I've always known that there are good fans and there are bad ones for every team.  God knows the caps aren't and exception to that rule....

  27. Through getting to know Kimmy, I certainly look at Panther fans differently. Flyers fans, not so much! HAHAHA, you know I kid Joe.

  28. at least now i cant say i hate all pens fans cause there's some on here that aint bad haha

  29. I'm kind of indifferent. I like some rival fans, and there's some I'd like to see get hit by a bus.

  30. yes i use to hate the red wings but now i don't hate them AS much.

  31. I've never really hated other teams fans, except for maybe the ***holes. It's the team itself I hate.
