Does hard liquor taste better cold or room temperature?

Just wondering if SHOTS of (about 40% or higher) liquor taste better cold.

Shots are yuck when room temperature, although if you have them cold they hurt your throat more

Go outside on a winters day with your underwear on with a bottle of booze, when it's real cold , you tell me whats better?

The better/more expensive bottles have more flavor to them. Typically its better to do as little as possible to the booze in order to per serve that flavor. Well vodka should never be consumed alone... let alone room temp. Make well vodka cold and mix it with whatever you want to be honest... (Remember, you can always add more and stir)

i think it mostly depeds on personal preference.

i keep my vodka in the freezer, because as a shot, its goes down better ice cold.

even though jagermiester says to serve chilled, my german neighbours drink it after dinner at room temp. i've found you can distinguish flavours a lot better like that.

rum and bourbon i keep at room temp because that the way i grew up watching my parents and grandparents do it.

whiskey my pop always stored in the fridge, then poured over ice.

but its really personal preference- however you like it best.

They taste LESS cold.  Not better.  If you like the taste, they are better room temperature.  If you don't drink cold.

Chilling drinks affects your taste buds, reducing the flavors you perceive with the exception of sweetness. That's why lots of bitter drinks are served very cold and why you chill white wine slightly.

For liquor, chilling would hide some of the flavors that you don't want to taste, so cheap liquor would probably taste better cold.

i feel it depends on your mood.sometimes u want something cold, but on the other hand u also want something with a lil kick that will put a lil hair on your chest. doesn't matter if u man or woman.personally."I am woman, hear me ROAR!

It really depends on the liquor, I prefer rum at room temperature but a shot of jagermeister or goldschlager I love it cold! Its really just a personal preference
