Does having DREAD LOCKS make yur hair grow (faster/longer)?

and is it better to get dreads while yur hair is long or short?

NO once you've had Dread Locks you have to shave your head because you're knotting your hair and perming it.

SERIOUSLY, dont get it done if you dont want your head shaved.

Its better to start short. and if you are tryin to do it to have longer hair then it is bad because you can never get them out the only choice is to cut it out =/

Not really.

Rubbing olive oil in your hair weekly or bi weekly REALLY makes it hydrated and shiny (its so good for you hair!) and the massage stimulates your roots to make it grow faster.

No one else seems to actually know what they're talking about...

dreads will grow MUCH slower than normal hair because dreadlocks are, in essence, knotted up hair. Since the hair is knotted up, it is condensed and will take much more time to grow... that is to say, your hair itself will grow at the same pace but the length will increase much slower as they continue to dread at the roots with growth.

Also, the longer your hair is, the better (within reason). Shorter hair tends to come unknotted quite easily in the beginning, and three inches is about an absolute minimum (your dreads will be shorter than whatever length you start with)... keep in mind, though, that the starting process will take more time for longer hair.

Locs will make your hair grow as will any protective style. most people do start of with short hair but it can be locked if your hair is long, it's just more convenient to start with shorter hair.
