  1. Its kind of a so-so answer. It in early days of America, the 2nd place person in the presidential election was the VP, and that didn't work. But I think it could be helpful too, it could gain votes and the president could get a different, well rounded view of things. I think it depends on who the two people are.

  2. Divided government is better.  Think about Clinton's first two years versus his last eight.  No contest.

  3. Hinders, definitely.  Consider Adams and Jefferson.

The Constitution as originally written virtually guaranteed that the President and Vice President would be of different parties, and that contributed to the 12th Amendment being passed.

  4. Im guessing this is aimed at Liberman. Well, if Bush / McCain chose him as a running mate and McCain died in office then you would have a Independent as a President. Not to mention if you think that people are not voting for Obama cause he's black well how do you think people feel about a Jew next in line to run the country.

By taking one from each party hurt Linclon and it will hurt in this election as well.

  5. The vp has no real power so it doesn't really matter.

  6. It's better to have Congress in power as one party and another as Pres./VP, because that provides better checks and balances.

Although I happen to like Lieberman, he won't be selected simply because should something happen to McCain, that would place the Democrats into full power............  A dangerous move, and something that we've learned very well.

Checks and balances are needed for both sides of the fence.
