  1. if you want to recieve medication from pain or not is entirely up to YOU. not the doctor........child birth comes along with severe pain.....i wanted to go natural but i was induced and the pitocin made contractions h**l....i got the epidural and ended up needing a c section due to failure to progress past 4cm after 16 hours. maybe you should find a new OB more open to your feelings.

  2. Every woman can take pain differently. I did use one dose of IV medication early in labor just to take the ease off but it didnt help because I felt everything. But labor to me felt like a really bad period. The worst part is the crowning. Do what your body can tolerate. If you cant bare the pain, take something. You want to remember your birth as something special and not something you would never do again. Good luck!

  3. Unless you regularly push watermelons out of your body, then yes, I would expect it to hurt. Good luck with that

  4. my mom said it was really painful having a baby, but it was worth it

  5. I have had 2 out of 3 completely natural.  They doctor probably doesn't want to use drugs because it can sometimes slow down labor.  If that is the route you want to go my only suggestion is to get your breathing down and try to stay calm.  Child birth is extremely painful but hopefully you will have a quick, easy labor.  Congrats, and good luck.

  6. um... you decide that, not your doctor. FIND A NEW DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.

  7. Yes, it hurts more than anyone can describe.  I would ask other mothers that went through delivery in the same hospital.  In the hospital that I went to they would not give drugs.  I know other people that had the same experience.  In the end I had a c section because we were losing the baby.  The pain was non stop and I thought I was going to die.  My friend had the same experience and changed hospitals in the middle of her pregnancy for this reason after giving birth to her first there.  I am sorry but I would have switched too if I did not have a c section for my second.  I could deal with the pain after but not during.  I do not mean to scare you but it is not right for them to deny you of drugs.  Good luck with the baby and know that everyones experience is different.  My mom had no problem.

  8. It hurts like a *********!! With Xali, I was like AAAHHHHH GET THIS f*****k I N G THING OUT OF ME!!! I'M GONNA KILL IT!!!! And stuff like that, but she was very small, she was only 17 inches long, and weighed 3lbs and 6oz. But now that's all over and done with and it was very worth it because I love my baby more than anything. If I had to go through it again I would. I don't believe in drugs for that kind of natural stuff.

  9. well i was going to have my daughter without drugs but i had to get induced so that didnt happen. Its more like in intense omg i cant wait to get this over with type of pain.. like when you get a tattoo you know its going to hurt and its going to get annoying but you know its all worth it in the end. good luck! Its the most amazing experience in the world!

  10. Of course there is some pain involved with labor and delivery.  I'm not sure why your doctor would advise you to do so without drugs, other than sometimes the medications can slow down labor and affect the infant's respiration..  Ask your doctor why he advises this and if he doesn't have a good answer, other than it might affect labor or the baby, ask about an epidural, which is given in the spine before delivery and blocks the pain.  I know several women who have delivered with an epidural and have had no problems.  There is no need to go through unnecessary pain only because the doctor doesn't like to give medication.

  11. yea having a baby willl hurt. but i think you will get throught it cause at the end you will be so happy you auctlly have a kid you will forget about the pain. congratulations!!

  12. Yes, yes it does hurt.

If you are going to go the all natural way, I strongly recommend you attend some ante natal classes to work on your breathing methods when you are in labour, as this will help tremendously. Sometimes the sans painkiller way is a good route to take, I personally have had one child 2 years ago, I had an epidural which didn't work, gas and air which made me violently ill, and pethidine in the leg which hurt like h**l! In hindsight, I'd rather have just gone all natural! Why don't you talk to your doctor and ask him why he thinks no drugs is the way for you, or perhaps look up some alternate methods, like water births or holistics. Obviously it is important to take his opinion into account, but at the end of the day it's YOUR body and YOUR baby, so it's YOUR choice.

Aside from all that though, once you have squeezed the little one out, and you hear him cry, and hold him for the first time, all the pain just goes away and you don't care about anything but him. You forget all about it in that instant. Look at it this way, it can't be that bad or women wouldn't ever have more than one kid!

  13. Having a baby will hurt. There is no question on that.

I had my daughter natural without any pain medicine. Not because I wanted to but because I had to. I wouldn't change it for the world.

Women are blessed to get the experience of having a child. In my opinion having a baby all natural without drugs just adds to the experience. And it is a wonderful and beautiful experience.

It's really not all that bad. After the delivery you will have already forgotten about the pain and will be crying tears of joy after seeing your precious little baby in your arms.

You should trust you doctor, after all he/she wouldn't let you do anything that would potentially harm you or the baby.

    By the way, Congratulations!

  14. Who cares what the doctor wants?  It's up to you, you may want them you may not.

And it was the worse physical pain I have ever felt in my life, I won't sugar coat it....but you know what it doesn't last forever and you have a wonderful end result!

  15. From what i hear, yes it does hurt. Your body produces a lot of natural painkillers, although if you wish to use painkiller medications that is YOUR CHOICE not your doctors and that is very unprofessional of him to pressure you not to (unless there is a medical reason behind it).

  16. o-m-g. you ******* idiot. what the h**l do you think????

  17. When my waters broke it didn't hurt ..it just felt wet.

When contractions started they were like period pains and then they got closer together and more painful and I used the gas to try and help me through the pain while I was breathing.

I had a hot shower and ths helped a lot too.

By the time I was fully dilated and pushing I was exhausted and then as the baby started to crown I felt like a burning sensation down below and everything was fully stretched to the max and then the baby's head popped out .

On the next contraction the rest of the baby was delivered and instantly all the pain was gone.

With my 2nd baby I asked for an epidural and they said it was too late and gave me a shot of pethidine instead which made me nauseas and I threw up and  my baby was floppy when delivered and needed narcan to reverse the effects of the drugs they gave me which apparently crossed the placenta even though they said it wouldn't affect the baby.

My 3rd was a c-section and THAT was not a pleasant experience.

I say give natural child birth a go...you may or may not need drugs as everyone is different .

When the baby is born you quickly forget all the pain..why do you think people go back and have more kids.
