Does a higher EFC mean less aid?

  1. Yes it can.  A higher EFC will mean that you can contribute more to your education and need less money from the government.  If you are applying for aid for 2008 - 2009, you use your 2007 tax information (or your parents depending on your age).  So, it is based on 2007 income not your income now.  


  2. It did raise mine when I was in college...

    I always thought that was somewhat unfair...

  3. It could, depending on how much money you make. If you just work part time or don't get paid well, you'll probably still be below a certain level, and yes, it may mean less grants and other "free"money, it doesn't mean you still can't get student loans.
